Gifted Support Teachers
Hi! I am Mrs. Sue Eden. I have been working in the East Stroudsburg Area School District since 1999. I have worked in the role as elementary gifted support teacher since 2006. I have a dual certification in Special Education and Regular Education from Penn State University and my Master’s Degree in Special Education from East Stroudsburg University. I enjoy working at elementary schools in our district. I am most proud of my work with my students and their service learning projects and my work with IF INSTITUTE, a partnership with ESU for the district’s gifted elementary students. I am a long-time resident of East Stroudsburg with my husband where I enjoy gardening, piano, crafts, and playing with my grandchildren.
My name is Mrs. Holly Burns. I love teaching. I currently teach at JT Lambert Intermediate School. I have a Master's in Education. I was born in New Jersey, but have been living in the Poconos for over 15 years. I have two daughters. I love to travel and snowboard. I love adventures and spending time at the beach. My favorite insect is a butterfly. I love Disney. My favorite thing about my job is building leadership skills and teaching children to enjoy learning.
Hello Everyone! My name is Kendal Askins. I am currently in my 9th year of teaching. I attended Queens College where I received both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mathematics Education. I am certified in mathematics grades 7-12 in both New York and Pennsylvania. The first 6 years I taught in a JHS in New York City. Three years ago I moved to Pennsylvania and I have been teaching in East Stroudsburg Area School District since the move. I am currently the Gifted Support teacher at the North campus and I help provide services for elementary through high school gifted students.
I have wanted to teach since I could speak and my love for teaching continues to develop everyday. I believe that one person can make a difference and it is important that our students believe that too!
Hello! I am Mr. Paul Kernan and I have been teaching for 17 years, 13 of those being here at East Stroudsburg High School South. After graduating high school, I attended the University of Scranton for my Bachelor’s degree in Education. Following my education at Scranton, I got my Master’s degree for Education at Wilkes University and a Certificate for Special Education at East Stroudsburg University. After previous education jobs, I came to East Stroudsburg High School South to teach. Currently, I teach Psychology and two seminar classes which are open to 9-12th graders. My favorite parts of teaching are helping students make connections to new material and ideas as well as helping them prepare for their futures. I also run Mock Trial. Outside of the school, I like to read, go on walks in the park, and travel to big cities.
